How the Irish Bee & Heritage Foundation runs its social media channels, and what we ask of our online community.

Last updated 10 June 2026

This Social Media Policy outlines how the Irish Bee & Heritage Foundation (“IBHF”, “we”, “our”, “us”) manages its social media presence and how we expect our community to engage with us online. Our goal is to maintain a respectful, safe, and informative environment across all platforms.

1. Purpose of This Policy

This policy applies to all IBHF social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and any future platforms. It covers:

  • How IBHF manages its accounts
  • Community behaviour expectations
  • How we handle comments and moderation
  • Use of IBHF content

2. Our Social Media Goals

We use social media to:

  • Share educational content about bees, biodiversity, and heritage
  • Promote events, courses, and membership opportunities
  • Celebrate community involvement
  • Provide updates about our work and initiatives
  • Encourage responsible beekeeping and environmental stewardship

3. Community Guidelines

We welcome open conversation, but to keep our platforms safe and respectful, we ask that all users follow these rules:

  • Be respectful and kind to others
  • Avoid offensive, abusive, or discriminatory language
  • Do not post spam, advertisements, or repeated promotional content
  • Do not share misleading or harmful information about bees, wildlife, or environmental practices
  • Do not post personal information (your own or others’)
  • Keep comments relevant to the topic being discussed

We reserve the right to hide or remove comments that violate these guidelines.

4. Moderation Policy

Our team monitors comments and messages regularly. We may:

  • Hide or delete comments that breach our guidelines
  • Block or restrict users who repeatedly violate the rules
  • Report harmful or illegal content to the platform or authorities if necessary

We aim to respond to messages within a reasonable timeframe, but we cannot guarantee immediate replies.

5. Direct Messages

We welcome questions and feedback via direct message. However:

  • We cannot provide emergency assistance via social media
  • We may redirect queries to email if they require formal handling
  • For official matters, please contact info@ibhf.ie
