Everything we do, from training a new beekeeper to running a skep-making workshop, is made possible by people who choose to help.
There are lots of ways to support the Irish Bee & Heritage Foundation. Pick the one that suits you: every one of them helps protect the Irish Black Bee and keeps Ireland’s beekeeping heritage alive.

Ways to help
Join, give, volunteer or partner
Become a member
Join a community of beekeepers and bee lovers. Members keep our work going year after year, and get closer to it.
Make a donation
A one-off gift or a regular one goes straight into protecting the black bee and training new beekeepers.
Volunteer
Help at an apiary day, a heritage workshop or an event. Beekeeping experience is welcome but not needed.
Partner or sponsor
Businesses, schools and organisations can sponsor a course, an apiary or a programme, or work with us on a project.
Where your support goes
Three strands of work
Protecting the black bee
Conserving Ireland’s native bee, and encouraging beekeepers to keep and breed native stock.
Training beekeepers
Structured courses from a first season to recognised qualifications, so every new beekeeper starts well.
Keeping crafts alive
Hands-on workshops in skep making, basketry, candles, mead and the other crafts that grew up around the hive.
Every day
Small things that help
- Buy local Irish honey and ask where it comes from.
- Plant for pollinators and leave a corner of the garden wild.
- Tell a friend and follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
